Your life is not our product.

We are building AI that can know you well. That only works if you can trust it completely. So here, in plain words, is what we believe, what Atlas does with your information today, and what we will never do.

A note from us

When we started Aura, the question was never whether AI would become personal. It already is. People hand it their notes, their photos, their plans, their doubts at two in the morning. The real question is who that intelligence belongs to.

We decided early that it should belong to you. Your conversations, your voice, your footage and your ideas should live on your computer, not in our data center. Not because a regulator asked us to, but because it is the only version of this technology we would want for our own families.

That choice makes some things harder for us. We cannot learn from what you do in Atlas, because we never see it. We cannot sell your attention, because we do not have it. We are fine with that. We would rather earn your trust than harvest your data.

If we ever get something wrong, we want to hear it first. Write to us. A person will read it.

Where your data goes

Almost nowhere. That is the point.

This is how Atlas works today, not how we hope it will work someday.

Stays on your computer

Leaves only when needed

A search query When you ask about something live, like today's news or a price, Atlas sends the search words to DuckDuckGo, Bing, Google News or Wikipedia and reads the results. Your conversation is not sent.
A model download Once, when you set Atlas up, it downloads the AI model from its public source. You can also install it offline.

A privacy promise is only worth something if you can test it. So we tell you exactly what runs inside Atlas, and how to see for yourself that your words stay home.

The model

Atlas thinks with Qwen 3.5.

An open-weight language model released under the Apache 2.0 license. Open weights mean anyone can download the exact model, inspect it and run it themselves. Atlas runs it on your computer through Ollama, and Barx sizes it to your machine. There is no hidden model on a server somewhere doing the real work.

We name every component we use on our models & credits list. Qwen is a trademark of its owner; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Qwen team.

Test 1 · two minutes

Turn off your Wi-Fi.

Once Atlas is set up, chat, voice, photo editing and video editing keep working with no internet at all. Only live web answers stop, because those need the web.

Test 2 · for the curious

Watch the network.

Run any network monitor while you use Atlas. You will see the local model server talking only to your own machine, and search requests only when you ask about something live.

What we will never do

Some lines we will not cross.

  4. 04Send your work to the cloud quietly, as a "fallback".
  5. 05Look at your files, your screen or your microphone without you asking.

Honest about today

What is not perfect yet.

Trust means telling you the limits too.

  • Encryption. Atlas keeps your data in your macOS account's app folder. It is protected by your login, but it is not yet encrypted separately. That is on our list.
  • Kids mode. It simplifies Atlas for children. It is not parental controls or a content filter, and it is meant for supervised use.
  • Your own servers. If you point Atlas at an AI server you run yourself, that server's own settings apply.
  • Trace. When Trace syncs between your devices, it uses your own iCloud account, which you control. Processing happens on your device wherever possible.
  • Your controls. Export everything from Settings → About Atlas. To erase it, delete the Atlas app folder. There is no account to close.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no ad trackers. It loads fonts from Google Fonts and code libraries from jsDelivr, which, like any web server, see your IP address when they send them.

When you email us

We keep your message so we can reply. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask, and we never share your address. Ask us to delete your emails and we will.

When you pay us

We are not taking payments yet. When plans open, a payment processor will handle your card; we will keep only what we need to run your subscription, and we will update this page before that day.

Your rights

Your Atlas data is already in your hands: you can read it, export it and delete it without asking anyone. For anything you have sent us directly, email us and we will show it to you, correct it or delete it.

Children

Atlas is made for adults and for children with a grown-up nearby. Kids mode simplifies it, but it is not parental controls. We do not knowingly collect anything from children, and Atlas itself sends us nothing.

Security

Atlas's interface runs sandboxed, with no direct access to your system. Desktop actions use a fixed list of allowed apps, not arbitrary commands. If you find a security problem, please tell us at kira@aura-compute.com before telling the world, and we will fix it fast and credit you.

If this promise changes

If we ever change what Atlas keeps, sends or collects, we will say exactly what changed at the top of this page, with the date, before the change reaches you. We will never make it weaker quietly.

Beyond your data

We care about more than your files.

Privacy is one way of respecting people. These are the others we hold ourselves to.

Nature and the planet

The chip in your laptop is already switched on. Doing everyday AI there avoids a trip to a data center. We build smaller, more efficient models because bigger should not be the only path to better. We will publish energy measurements once we have measured them, and not before.

People and their work

AI should make people more capable, not less needed. In Atlas you stay the director: it edits your film, you decide what it says. GlassBox shows its evidence so you can judge it. We will not design products whose purpose is to replace a person's judgment.

Children and learning

Guide, don't replace. Explain, don't just answer. For young people, AI should build curiosity and reasoning, not hand over homework. Anything we make for families will be built with guardians in control.

Our world

Powerful intelligence should not depend on renting time in someone else's building. It should run on the hardware people already own, in every country and on every budget. That is how it becomes fair.
